Dank little
public house in
Tralee, in County
Kerry,
Ireland, on
Bridge Str., right off the
main square. Live music (rarely
Trad, for which you'll have to go elsewhere) almost every night, and a great assortment of
ales,
stouts, and
ciders. Food is also bearable, including the standard
motley crew of
fish and chips,
steak and kidney pie,
et. al.; unfortunately,
last call is at midnight, as with most pubs in the area (you can imagine, this
pissed me off to no end, as I was pacing myself, expecting another two good hours of drinking).
I believe there are also a few
rooms to let, but they're cheap and tend to fill up rather quickly. If you're in the area and feel like calling, the number is 066-7123390.
They used to draw a fair number of rather popular acts, including Meat Loaf. There's even a big sign hanging above the bar, saying 'U2 swept here'. Apparently, when Bono played the Abbey, the owner thought he was so wretched, he made him sweep the floors to pay for his beer.
