A
1975 album recorded by
Genesis, released on the
Charisma label. Released during the period after
Peter Gabriel
left the band, but before Genesis stopped being
delightfully weird.
Worth listening to all the way through.

Bored of the life in the city of gold
He'd left and let nobody know......
The title track of this album also had the most commerical success.
It also reflected how I sometimes felt while in college, 1,000 miles away
from home, embedded in a culture that was supposedly the same as my own
but very, very different.
.......
Everyone looked so strange to him.
They've got no horns and they've got no tail
They don't even know of our existence.
Am I wrong to believe in a city of gold
That lies in the deep distance, he cried......
