5 Train (Lexington Avenue Express)
The 5 Train runs from 238th Street in The Bronx to the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn.
I really dislike the 5 Train. It has the most confusing schedule of any in the city... here it comes:
- From midnight - 6:30am every day, the 5 only runs in the Bronx from Dyre Ave to E 180th.
- During rush hours, the 5 runs express in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and express in The Bronx only in the peek direction.
- On weekends, the 5 runs from Dyre Ave in The Bronx to the Bowling Green station in Manhattan. When it does this it's local in The Bronx and express in Manhattan.
