In the beginning of 'The Matrix', Trinity fought with police in Room 303 of the Heart O' the City Hotel (3 - Trinity. Get it?). Some also think that it could have been a reference to the synthesizer, along with Room 101 and Morpheus, which are all numbers or names for common synthesizers.

The 303 was a V8 engine manufactured in Australia by Holden in the seventees. It had a 303 cubic inch capacity and used a lot of fuel.
