The
sequel to

2001: A Space Odyssey. The
story contines with the mission to return to
Jupiter and restore the systems of the
space craft Discovery, as well as the
HAL 9000 intelegent computer.
Interactions with the
monolith continued, and it was at the end of this book in the
Space Odyssey series that the
planet Jupiter was
transformed into the mini-
star,
Lucifer.
This book was also made into a movie.
