Just like the Olympics 1936 - Berlin would be, these games were held in the taste of Adolf Hitler. Rigid censorship and propaganda would ensure that the Nazi Germany would be pictured according to the Nazi party's wish. 

Norway was back at top of the medal board, with 7 out of 16 gold medals. Canada lost their first ever Olympic ice hockey game in a 2-1 loss to the British team. This British team did however mostly consisted of Canadians.  USA would go on to claim the gold. A crowd of more than 150,000 saw Norway remain undefeated with its fourth Olympic ski jump gold.
