"Is that racist? I don't even know anymore" but I realised that I wasn't really generalising a race based on a few people, because Philippino (Filipino?) vendors don't really count as a race, do they, more of a subset of a race perhaps?
But wait,
if they do have a collective mind, that would certainly different form the actual Filipino people, and therefore they would be their own race, but to point out an actual feature of a race isn't really racism, is it?
The park was always a prime
hangout for us. The trees provided ample entertainment, as well as shade from
the afternoon sun. We would often walk there, as a group, or sometimes alone,
but we would always leave being picked up, sometimes by Jack’s mum, or Sylvia’s
dad, or either of my parents, because it was always too late to walk back.

But today there would be no
one picking us up. We had ditched school, none of us particularly enjoying the
prospect of last period Sport, what with it being such a lovely day and all.

Wherever we went, Sylvia was
always the first to talk. She’d say something like:

The Band

Them Crooked Vultures are a "supergroup" composed of John Paul Jones, Josh Homme, and Dave Grohl. By all accounts it was mostly Dave Grohl's who started it all, having met Jones when he scored some trumpets for a Foo Fighters song. Dave had mentioned that he might want to do something with JPJ, and later started talking to Josh Homme about doing something with Jonesy. Homme was, by his own report, skeptical that Grohl would actually get John, reportedly saying “that’d be awesome. And I’ll ask… The President. And we can put it all together.”1
Nevertheless, Dave did begin corresponding with John, and soon, he and Josh found themselves seated together at Medieval Times, celebrating Grohl's 40th birthday, with him watching over them from the tier above. By all accounts, John and Josh hit it off, and a new band was born.
