The snowdrifts and the sauna

Have this in common:

Not only that the sauna is set amid the snowdrifts,

Nor only that if you stay with them too long

And there fall asleep, you will die,

But that each offers

The quietest, most gentle death,

A deadly doze, a peaceful passing,

Gentle, alluring, so alluring that it lures

Not your conscious mind,

not the heart which can refuse,

But the part beneath that

Isn’t it just so nice

To sleep here

Forever?

Wake!

Move!

You must be going on.
