Also a critical element of
the Time Warp, the pelvic thrust is
gleefully performed by
audience members at a screening of
The Rocky Horror Picture Show. By this point in the
dance, a participant's
hands should be on their hips and their knees should be drawn together. The
pelvis is then pushed forward and back repeatedly and
vigorously before being churned in a circle during the word
insaaaaaaane. This is made much easier by watching the
Transylvanians on the screen or the people
dancing in the aisles around you.
I went to RHPS a number of times back in my college days, typically with the same group of friends. One of my friends was fond of saying "Group sex! Group sex!" with each thrust, but I haven't heard of this as a common element of RHPS audience participation...in my opinion, just doing the Time Warp was enough.
