Bill Black was the
double bass player for the band which backed
Elvis Presley on his origional early
Sun recordings for
Sam Phillips. The band was comprised of Bill Black,
Scotty Moore and
Elvis Presley. Both Black and Moore had been members of the
Starlite Wranglers. These early recordings are considered by many to be the
protean Rockabilly recordings, and of course paving the way for
Rock and Roll to evolve. Bill Black is an important part of
American History but is greatly under-appreciated. These early recordings included...
- That's All Right
- Blue Moon of Kentucky
- Good Rockin' Tonight
- I don't Care if the Sun Don't shine
- Baby Let's Play House
- I love you Because
- Blue Moon
Bill Black, truly a name to know.
