Great
Linux programming book by
Richard Stones and
Neil Matthew. Covers most things a
C programmer needs to know to start coding in a linux environment (
Curses,
signals,
POSIX threads,
dbm, development tools,
inter-process communication,
semaphores,
shared memory,
BSD Sockets and even a bit of
kernel programming are all covered). In my not so
humble opinion the sections on
HTML and
Perl could be ditched to make room for more essential stuff, but its still a good introduction.
