Dave Pelz came up with a method of classifying the
golf swing in terms other than "half", "quarter", "three-quarter" when taking
partial shots with wedges. Picture your arms as the hands of a
clock. At
address, they point to 6:00. A full
backswing is about 10:30. Now you can "dial in" a time, (such as 8:24) and if you have
calibration points for the length of shots hit at the 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 positions, you'll know much better how far the ball will fly.
Why do this? People hate fractions.
