Show about 2 cousins and their constant thwarting of criminal activity in Hazzard county. The boys are on probation, which means they cannot get caught doing anything wrong, or it's off to jail they go. Also, they can not use firearms, so often they resort to archery using arrows with dynamite attached to get the desired result. The county commissioner, J.D. Hogg, along with sheriff Rosco P. Coltraine are always trying to find ways to land the Duke boys in trouble, so they can be locked up. With help from their friends and family, the Dukes always triumph in the end.

Possibly the most recognizable icon from the show is the General Lee, the orange Dodge Charger painted up to look like a stock car. In one of the first shows, the boys have a stock car engine all ready, but have no car to put it in. One day while checking out the junkyard, they find an old black Charger (although it's never called a Charger in the show). With some bodywork, and some help from their pal Cooter, the General Lee is born.
