The Department of Workforce Services numbers from 1999 say something like 70% of those in the United States Workforce are men -- while I'm not a Statistician, I know this will screw up the averages if not taken into account.
This is not to say that women 'make' as much as men in the western world -- It's obvious there is still a gap, but I really don't think it's as big as the NOW people like to say.
And while we're on the subject, that about the porn industry? The average adult actress makes over 10 times what their male counterparts do... and why don't men get as much maternaty leave as women?
