A
cancer which affects the
lymph nodes. Usually starts in a single
node and spreads not-too-quickly to others. Can
metastasize elsewhere in the body. Warning
symptoms include a pain in the chest when drinking
alcohol (even a small amount), and drenching
night sweats. A
lump sticking up from under my
collarbone tipped *me* off.
As recently as 1975, the 5-year survival rate for people diagnosed with Hodgkin's was about 15%. Now it's over 95%. Chemotherapy is a wonderful thing.
Mario Lemieux and sschris both had Hodgkin's and have since recovered.
