This is a nickname for
Edinburgh. So called due to
the large number of statues in and around the city, along with much fine architecural detail, that includes a
castle
and
turrets on every other building.
The city also has an Acropolis type structure on
Calton hill. The structure is unfinished and
called sombodyorothers folly. Edinburgh ran out of money to complete the building. They asked Glasgow to finance the completion, Glasgow was not too impressed and so the
building remains incomplete. This happened sometime in the 1800's.
[Edinburgh is an incredibly beautiful city, as long as you can contend with the weather it is a dream of a place to live in.
