Track 11 from Dyslexic Fish's debut album 'Mission: Inappropriate', released April 14th, 2003

Music by Dyslexic Fish
Lyrics by James Trewenack and Glenn Sarangapany

Originally written in 1997, when most of the band were about fourteen years old, Free Love was the second song to be written by the band and has gone through at least four major revisions. The only part of the original lyrics that remain is the bridge.

Some would say it shows.

Earlier recorded versions can be found on 'What Glenn Does When He Is Bored', and their self titled EP released in 2000.

The guitar solo in the bridge is played on Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 using a power drill to 'bow' the strings, through a wah wah pedal, a flanger, and a series of delay effects.

Jimmy walk around like a real bad ass
got his jeans cut up and his hair in a mess
he says baby girl do you like what you see
do you want some of this
do you want some of me

I don't want this
I don't need this
I'm not looking for a good time
I want someone who is gonna treat me like a lady
cos I don't wanna be, your free love baby.

gotta get a bit of free love
a bit of free love,
a bit of free love...

Stephen push the loose hair from his eye
you see he's the kind of boy who's not afraid to cry
he says, baby girl I haven't seen you before
I'd like to talk to you, just to know for sure

I don't want this
I don't need this
I'm not looking for a good time
I want someone who is gonna treat me like a lady
cos I don't wanna be your free love baby

gotta get a bit of free love
a bit of free love,
a bit of free love...

will me into nothingness
hang me out to dry
what's not good enough for you no more
is still good enough for me

gotta get a bit of free love
a bit of free love,
a bit of free love...

gotta get a bit of free love
a bit of free love,
a bit of free love...
