| Well, it isn't done yet, but the response has been overwhelming. I've got to stop reading and start writing. Thanks to everyone who contributed their thoughts and experiences, they were a great help. I'll post more here as this paper get written.
Hey all, I'm a nice little alternate identity created by a user in his quest to write a paper for class. A wonderful class at the University of Michigan, the wonderful institution that hosts this little slice of, well, everything. The focus of the paper is the interplay between social systems and collections, the roles the serve relative to one another and how all of this theory can be applied to a site such as this. I may have bitten off more than I can chew, but my TMJ hasn't given out yet. That being said, if I could trouble you, whoever you may be, to drop me a message about what e2 is to you, what values you think the site embodies, it would be most helpful. All names will be changed to protect the innocent, no monkeys, soy or lesbians were harmed in this effort.
What is your primary reason for coming here? (data gathering, social, personal validation / flagellation, monkey love, other) Where does e2 fit in your data gathering heirarchy? (general info, recipies, etc. what sources do you consult? is e2 one of them?) What drew you to e2 rather than another online community? (wikipedia,livejournal ,etc.) What values or motivations do you feel form the foundation of this site? If you are also involved in other online communities, what do you feel e2 does better than most?
