MAC also stands for
Makeup Artists' Choice, a
Canadian cosmetics company started in 1984 by
Frank Toskan, a make up artist. Started as makeup for professionals, MAC has since expanded all over the world and is sold in both department stores and stand alone
retail shops.
MAC is currently owned by cosmetic giant
Estee Lauder.
