The real reason for all
anti-smoking legislation (aside from the
prosecution fo the
tobacco companies, who are
evil and deserve it). No one dies from
second-hand smoke unless they live in a small,
poorly-ventilated environment for many decades with a
smoker.
Non-smoking laws are not for anyone's protection; they're there so all the
non-smokers can
point and laugh as the smokers are systematically stripped of the
fundamental right to kill themselves however they deem most appropriate.
I worked in an office that was going to be switching to all
non-smoking at the end of the month. That included outside the back door. If people wanted to smoke after this date, they had to do it off
company property, on their lunch break. All the non-smokers knew this, and would glare smugly at the smokers every time they passed us.
Smoke breaks make non-smokers
jealous. If non-smokers would stop pouting and go get coffee or something while I took my smoke break, I bet I'd still be able to smoke in
Shari's.
