Was the first
person to artificially produce
electromagnetic waves (1885). This
discovery lead directly to
radio,
television,
radar and other inventions based on the
electromagnetic spectrum. Also
accidently discovered the photoelectric
effect in 1887.
Hertz's last name is now used in
everyday life as a
unit of
