Activision, (formed in 1979), was the first company besides Atari to produce games for the Atari 2600. They started making high quality games right off the bat. (Which makes sense because Activison's founding members were all ex Atari employees). Activision started several trends, such as actually crediting programmers for the games they produced, and creating a high score club.
