Currently Professor Of English and Comparative Studies at the University of Warwick, UK. Her time is shared between English, the Centre for British and Cultural Studies and the Centre for Women and Gender. She is author of many books, most notably The Female Eunuch. She also makes regular appearances in the media.
She only teaches one lecture course, entitled "Women and the Literary Establishment 1600-1750", which is often oversubscribed. Known around campus for never being in her office, or even her department.
