Another derogatory term for someone who attends
Yale University. I've only known this spelling (It's different than
Yalie) from
Harvard University students and
The Simpsons. Apparently Yale's sports teams are named the Elis.
Mr Burns as a character of The Simpsons was depicted as being is one of them, and he's despised. Rather funny in a subtle way if you ask me, because the writers for the show were Harvard University graduates, and considered Yale their rival.
