Bond University is a small university located on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It was founded in 1987 and gained university status in 1988.

The main differences that set Bond University apart from other Australian Universities is the comparatively low number of students, high fees and three semester year. Bond University has only 2000 students, of which 44% are overseas students (compared to approximately 40000 students at University of Sydney). It’s fees are roughly 5 times those that the University of Sydney charges.

Also note fees must be paid at the beginning of each semester at Bond. This means courses cannot be taken on HECS unlike other Australian Universities.
