Return to Lysithea (person)
Alternatively, Lysithea is also one of Jupiter's irregular moons. Discovered in 1938 by Seth Barnes Nicholson, it was originally known as Jupiter X, though it was also referred to as Demeter from 1955 to 1975.
The name Lysithea has appeared in various places. In the novel Voices of a Distant star a battleship is named after it, wherein another one of Jupiter's moons, Europa, is a United Nations naval base. In Halo, Lysithea is an artificial intelligence construct of the Office of Naval Intelligence.
