In gambling parlance, front money is money deposited with the casino cashier, usually in the form of a cashier's check, against which one can sign markers.

Front money offers some of the advantages of casino credit, insomuch as one doesn't have to carry large amounts of cash, and can write markers at the tables. Also, the casino does not have access to one'c credit report or bank account. The downside is basically having to withdraw money from one's account at the beginning of the trip, as a maximum bankroll, and the hassle of getting a cashier's check.
