The Commonwealth currently has 53 members, including most of the countries that were ever colonies or protectorates of Britain.

Republics: Bangladesh, Botswana, Cameroon, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, India, Kenya, Kiribati, Malawi, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia.

Nations retaining the British monarch: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu.

Monarchies in their own right: Brunei, Lesotho, Malaysia, Samoa, Swaziland, Tonga, and of course the United Kingdom itself.
