In the TV series "
Diff'rent Strokes", the name young
Arnold Jackson, played by
Gary Coleman, gave to his teddy bear.
The series ran from 1978 - 1986 and focused on the lives of
Philip Drummond, a rich white Manhattan man played by
Conrad Bain, his daughter
Kimberly (
Dana Plato), and his two adopted black children,
Arnold and
Willis Jackson (
Todd Bridges). Drummond adopts the
children when their mother, also his
maid, dies and they are left parentless.
