I'm a geek in conflict, with backgrounds in English and Computer Science. My first program was a Diebold-style electronic election system written in BASIC for my elementary school, and so on until my present occupation as systems administrator and stewing liberal.
Great works that get to me are the Preface to the Leaves of Grass, Jack Kerouac's Spontaneous Prose, the Unitarian Universalist Association Principles and Purposes, koans of any sort, and especially works that freely mix rhythm with sound: Robert Penn Warren in particular... yes...
The geek in me grasps for technical books like The Practice of System and Network Administration, Understanding and Deploying LDAP Directory Services, Effective Perl Programming, and Sendmail.
My present life goals include learning Spanish and another language, studying Zen, and bringing about harmony.
Your comments are most welcome. I'll try to be as courteous and helpful as I can be.
Stuff to node (maybe)
I'm not trying to "call" these nodes--go get 'em if you want!
