Return to Storm: Before and after. (poetry)

Before the storm, the air was
still and damp -
a sky filled with menace.

Before she came around my life was
calm and predictable
neat cabinets and organized bookshelves.

When she was here my days were
filled with hyperkinetic adventures
hours of random wandering, or
blanket wrestling

When she was here our nights involved too much
drinking, yelling, throwing of dishes
violent collisions, affectionate and otherwise

After the storm, the breezes were
cool and serene
skies filled with stars,

not a cloud in sight.
Not a single cloud.
