airplay (thing)

Broadcasting (via radio or television). Air + play: Music, or video, is played, and sent via the airwaves.

Government agencies that regulate the content of speech may rule some recordings, or individual words on those recordings, not suitable for airplay, e.g. Federal Communications Commission v. Pacifica Foundation, 438 U.S. 726, 98 S.Ct. 3026 (1978).
