One of the nicknames for the great State of New Mexico, a twisting of the state appellation "Land of Enchantment".

I've seen bumperstickers here which read "Welcome to New Mexico, the Land of Entrapment. Come on vacation, leave on probation." I believe these refer to the habit that NM State Troopers have of pulling over cars with out-of-state plates and ticketing them, on the supposition that the drivers from far away won't bother to return to contest the tickets. In my experience, this phenomenon is positively not limited to the NMSP, having been pulled over in both Colorado and Missouri for no crime greater than having New Mexico plates on my car.
