Great time signature (typically a polyrhythmic signiture) used commonly in latin music, with variations on the samba, sango, mambo, and several other latin rhythms. It means seven beats to a measure with the quarter-note used as a beat. Measures are commonly broken into either a 4-3 or 3-4 feel, especially in Afro-Cuban music, meaning each measure is sectioned. Other feels exist, however, including 2-3-2 (used often in the music of Fantomas).
