A
logical fallacy where, instead of making a
logical argument, the arguer points out the
consequences of believing the
proposition (bad to prove it false, good to prove it
true).
Example: "If that's true, then your life has no meaning."
To prove this false, show that the consequences have no bearing on the truth of the proposition.
