This public park in Liverpool and run by Liverpool City Council's Leisure Services Directorate is very attractive. It contains Mansion House, where all of the council payroll is calculated, the Linda McCartney playground, a pond, a café, and a large area of grass, bushes and trees.

It also sports English and Chinese gardens, as well as a rockery, and has a very well organised park ranger service and a miniature railway. The park is also the main depot for all of the council's park maintenance vehicles, and is busy at 09:00 when, as well as crowds of people walking dogs, the vans all rush around at ridiculously high speeds going all over the city.

In school holidays, many schoolchildren visit the park to partake in various activities. The park ranger service also organises events, such as orienteering, carol singing (at Christmas), and Easter egg hunts (at Easter).
