An attention slut is a
person with a completely
null
level of
self esteem, that bases their entire
self worth
on other people's actions towards them. This can be
a
male or
female, of any
age or
pursuation.
Sex can
be involved but is by no means required.
An attention slut will do anything for you if you say
something nice to them. Controlling persons love to
get ahold of an attention slut, and form a relationship
where small doses of positivity interleave with large
doses of abuse and torment.
The main problem is that the attention slut generally
hates himself/herself deeply. An expression of love
(even a mild one) from another person comes as both a
shock and a tangible 'high'. The high can be very pleasant,
and have recognizable physical effects on the body. They
become addicted to a drug they can only get from an
interpersonal relationship. The 'lows' experienced when
the positivive attentions are not forthcoming can include
depression, extreme guilt, feelings of total isolation,
and tendencies towards self-abuse / suicide.
