Ghoti Hook is a punk band that formed in 1991 in Washington, DC. They are on the Tooth and Nail Records label. The band members are: Joel Bell - vox; Jamie Tolosa - guitar; Mark Lacasse - guitar; Christian Ergueta - bass; and Adam Neubauer - drums. The name comes from Adam's dad who suggested it because ghoti is the phonetic spelling of the word fish (as suggested by Shaw) and the band pronounces it "go-dee".

Influences: The Violent Femmes, The Dead Milkmen, Faith No More, Screeching Weasel, Operation Ivy, Green Day, Metallica

An interesting bit of trivia: they used to cover the theme song to Fraggle Rock.

I just saw these guys last night (April 12, 2000). They opened for The Hippos and MxPx. They were pretty good. They could probably use a little more stage presence, but other than that good punk band. Their guitarists are really fast. One guy's hand was a blur during a solo in one of the songs.
