A company previously owned by
Hyundai Electronics America. It was sold to
LSI Logic in
1998 and became a wholly owned
subsidiary of
LSI Logic Corporation. This company was also refered to as
Symbios, Inc. They designed, manufactured, and marketed client/server integrated circuits, cell-based application specific integrated circuits (
ASICs), host adapter boards, and storage subsystems. It appears as though
LSI still uses the symbios name to sell
SCSI Chips,
HABs,
Expanders,
Enclosures, and
Fibre Channel products.
Prior to 1995 this company was operated as the Microelectronics Products Division of AT&T Global Information Systems. Before that it was a division of NCR where it was first started in 1972.
Way back in Febuary of 1997 in my last semester of college I interviewed with this company at their Wichita, Kansas plant. I didn't get the job. I don't know if it was because they weren't impressed with my resume, I made sure they knew I already had an offer that I had to make a decision on soon, or because I asked for a lot of money to move Kansas.
