Wegmans has sort of a cult following in the Rochester, New York area where they were started. Most of my in-laws not only shop there, but seem to make it a central part of any visit whenever we're up there.

And they do have good supermarkets- they're very big, good selection, and lately have gotten into organic and natural foods, having a section of the store larger than most entire health food stores with the items on display.

They're extending their reach into Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well. They must be careful not to have a Napoleonic over-extension of their supply lines.
