Jowl (?), n. [For older chole, chaul, AS. ceaft jaw. Cf. Chaps.]

The cheek; the jaw.

Cheek by jowl, with the cheeks close together; side by side; in close proximity. "I will go with three cheek by jowl." Shak. "Sits cheek by jowl."
