GB is short for Gigabyte.
A gigabyte is 1024 MB (megabytes), or 1,073,741,824 bytes.

Editorial note. No longer correct: a gigabyte (1 GB) is 10^9 bytes, a gibibyte (1 GiB) is 2^30 bytes. See prefixes for binary multiples.
