Cells that are found in the dermis (just under the skin) that help in healing wounds (to form scars and scar tissue).
These cells are rapidly dividing, single eukaryote cells that are often used (grown up in cell culture for various reasons) by cell biologists because they amplify (divide/reproduce) rapidly and grow readily in inexpensive environments.
