Sadly, that on which my family subsists. Oh sure, occasionally we eat chicken or fish, maybe even a nice salad. But for the most part, my family insists on living by the most bland, even stereotypical-Irish meal of meat and potatoes. Sometimes it's pig, sometimes it's cow. Usually some form of cow. Ground beef. Corned beef. Cream chipped beef. Roast beef. Hamburgers. London broil. Meatloaf. The occasional pork chop or ham. Mashed potatoes. Baked potatoes. O'Brien potatoes. Potato salad. Home fries. French Fries. And beer. Lager. Mom, can't you make us a leg of lamb? Can't you make us a nice chicken stir fry? How about some fish? I always like a breaded flounder.

"What's for dinner tonight?"

"Meatloaf and mashed potatoes."

"How about a pizza?"
