Colorspace was also an art exhibit/plaything that I remember from the 1980s. I ran across it at Lincoln Center in New York City. It consisted of an enormous structure made up of square cells of brightly colored plastic, all attached to produce something perhaps the size of basketball court. It was inflated by large air pumps, and one 'cell' had a slit in it; you would walk into the thing as it sat there in the sunlight and wander around this geometry of brilliant color. Ambient, surreal (soothing) tones were piped into the structure from a Moog outside. It was, for some reason, incredibly relaxing.
