After the general election in
Norway September 10, 2001, a new
political platform had formed, and the three parties
Høyre ("Right"),
Kristelig Folkeparti ("Christian Folk Party") and
Venstre ("Left") formed a
government on
October 19, 2001. The new
Prime Minister, Kjell Magne Bondevik has earlier led a goverment consisting of
Kristelig Folkeparti,
Venstre and
Senterpartiet ("The Centre Party"). When asked, Bondevik said that the most important tasks would be to join in the international work against
terrorism, make the
economy safer and expand the
welfare society. Better family and environmental policies are also important for the new government.
