Breath of Fresh Truth
Let's not say what we are allowed to say, let's tell the truth. The big thing about the media is it's a propaganda apparatus, just
much better at it than authoritarian countries like North Korea or
whatever.
It is fundamentally important to power, which -
being powerful - controls the propaganda apparatus, to be able to
say: "This isn't merely our opinion, this is science." This
has all sorts of consequences and corollaries. These include:
We
have to be kept ignorant about science, otherwise we'd just laugh in
their faces - note the removal of real science from television in
recent years, and c.f. their dislike, centuries ago, of translating
the bible into English (then they said: You've got to agree with us,
it's the word of God.)
They mostly want to tell us how we
should think, act, and feel. So they have to legitimise the fascist
pseudo-science of psychology. (See Sporus's entry in Psychology for an explanation of this apparently contentious statement.)
Power cannot take the blame when
things go wrong, otherwise they'd soon stop being powerful. So they
have to blame gypsies or genes - hence the endless, again fascistic,
garbage about genes. The life sciences have been ruthlessly
lysenkoised. Since medicine depends on these sciences we pay for this
with our own, and our loved ones, lives.
So that power can
control science it is now run by guilds (Selafield name changed
tricked to "professional groups"). The guilds assign the
credit for scientific discoveries and ideas and so have every
scientist by the throat. ("Priority" is granted if a paper
is physically published, ink on paper, in a learned journal. The
guild decides if it should be, the "pier review system". If
they make a mistake and don't publish say General Relativity then
hard luck. This is manifestly utterly against natural justice.) Power
comes along and controls the guilds.
I could go on, but, to
finish, an important one is that Darwinism suits power - they can
make out that society is not created to suit them but is called forth
by our being animals. Incidentally, to protect my credibility a bit, I substantially agree with
Darwinism. Ditto pecking order,
animal territories, and the whole dreary litany of evil.
