All-female
r&b band formed in 1979 by producer Bernadette Cooper. The women in Klymaxx were unique in that they were completly conceived by a female producer and they wrote and performed their own songs, kinda like a
funky Black version of the
Go-Gos.
At time the music they performed was a bit sappy but their biggest hits (like "Meeting in the Ladies Room" & "The Men All Pause") were often confrontational and definitely written for the girls.
