A bill introduced by Senator Don Nickles and Representative Henry Hyde makes it illegal to use a scheduled drug to assist in hastening a death. Anyone "intentionally dispensing, distributing, or administering a controlled substance for the purpose of causing death or assisting another person in causing death" would be subject to federal prosecution and a prison term from 20 years to life.

Makes euthanasia a federal crime. I feel it is forcing the religious belief of some on everyone, violating the first amendment.

And name one doctor that wouldn't hesitate to offer a terminally ill patient some pain medication since just about anything that would have a noticeable effect would hasten death. If it passes, hope you like living in pain, because doctors would rather have that then go to prison.
