Plant hormones have a few commercial uses...

Producing seedless fruit

Fruits will normally only grow on plants which have been pollinated by insects. If a plant isn't pollinated, fruits and seeds won't grow. Unless growth hormones are applied to the unpollinated flowers. This produces seedless fruit which has commercial value.

Controlling the ripening of fruit

By harvesting unripe fruit and applying ripening hormone at the correct time, fruit can be just right for when it hits the shelves. The ripening hormone will be applied as it's on the way to the supermarket.

Growing from cuttings with rooting compound

Normally when you stick cuttings in the soil, they won't grow. But if you apply rooting compound, it'll take hold and grow quickly. This is an excellent way to produce clones of a good plant quickly.

Killing weeds

Hormonal weedkillers totally disrupt the growth patterns of weeds, killing them and leaving everything else standing.
